I joined ProInterns as an Administrative Assistant, I had previous experience as an Administrative Officer with one of the biggest Banks in the country, I thought I knew all that I needed to know about Office Administration. However being an Administrative Assistant Intern for a start up like ProInterns has been quite an exciting experience.
ProInterns has largely changed my perception in a short period of time. I have learnt a lot like managing an organization’s social media platforms, my communication skills have greatly improved both online and physical communication. I am now able use Mail Chimp (an e-mail marketing platform) to send mail to the different subscribers as well as create and send out newsletters in addition to monitoring the ProInterns website from the back-end.
With ProInterns, I had the opportunity to go out and meet new people in different organizations, telling them about our new online platform “ProInterns” that connects interns to potential employers to bridge the unemployment gap in the country.
I have learnt how to successfully organize an event through keeping in constant touch with the invited guests to confirm their attendance and the event service providers to ensure that everything happens as planned. As we organized for the ProInterns Launch which was very successful and made me feel so proud, being part of the organizing team for the whole event, selecting ProInterns ambassadors to help at the event as well as ensuring hospitality for the guests, I have acquired all the necessary experience
All in all, being part of the ProInterns team is such an exciting opportunity and having to live to see it extremely successful in the future, as a well-established out sourcing recruitment site and brand not only in Uganda but in Africa as a whole is my long term goal and I am sure this will all come to pass with our hard work and dedication.
